The United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos) is a Federal Republic composed of 32 Federal entities: 31 States and 01 "federal district" (Mexico City). The States are internally divided into Municipalities. In total, there are 2438 municipalities in Mexico. The state with the highest number of municipalities(570) is Oaxaca, and the state with the lowest number is Baja California(05). The Federal District is divided into 16 Delegaciones or Boroughs.
